Vice President of Busan Port Authority
Mr CHA Min-sik is the vice president of Busan Port Authority (BPA) in South Korea, a position he has held since 2012. As the vice president Mr CHA is responsible for the overall business plan, management, budget and finances of BPA. He aims to develop Busan Port’s role as a transhipment hub of the north-east Asian region through global planning and strategic vision by fulfilling those responsibilities.

Since he started his career in 1982 at Sammi shipping company, he has gained shipping and port-related experiences and knowledge by working in the shipping and port industry for more than 30 years.
He worked at various shipping companies (Sammi, Pumyang, Samsun, Seoul line) from 1982 to 2000 and acquired business and administrative skills through hands-on experience.

Since he joined BPA in 2004, he has worked as a director of the teams on port planning and management. With the wealth of experience and professional knowledge he gained during the period, he was promoted to vice president in charge of business & management tasks of BPA.

Mr CHA graduated from Seoul National University where he earned his BA and MA degrees in law. He also obtained his PhD in law from Seoul National University in 2011 by writing a thesis on the duties of nations and state-owned companies.
